01/01/1975 by NGS (FIRST OBSERVED)
DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1975 (WOM) THE STATION, SALISBURY AMERICAN TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH MICROWAVE KGO-84, IS THE LIGHT ATOP A 4-LEGGED, SELF-SUPPORTING, STEEL MAST THAT IS ALTERNATELY PAINTED RED AND WHITE. THE STRUCTURE HAS AN OVERALL HEIGHT OF 185 FEET AND HAS SOME REFLECTORS NEAR THE TOP. THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 8-1/2 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF MEYERSDALE, 6-1/2 MILES NORTH OF GRANTSVILLE AND 5 MILES NORTHWEST OF SALISBURY. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 219 AND STATE HIGHWAY 669 IN SALISBURY, GO WEST ON HIGHWAY 669 FOR 0.7 MILE TO A T-ROAD JUNCTION, WHERE HIGHWAY 669 TURNS LEFT. TURN RIGHT AND GO NORTH AND NORTHWEST ON A PAVED ROAD FOR 1.7 MILES TO A SIDE ROAD LEFT IN THE VILLAGE OF ST PAUL. TURN LEFT AND GO WESTERLY ON A PAVED ROAD FOR 4.0 MILES TO THE SALISBURY ATT MICROWAVE AND NORTH WOLFROCK ROAD ON THE RIGHT.
