Synagogue in Velvary was one of the last newly constructed synagogues in Czech lands prior the WWII. It was built in 1931 by a local Jewish community according to the plans of architect František Albert Libra (1891–1958). Members of Velvary Jewish community were in a majority murdered in Nazi' extermination camps during WWII, so after war it vanished... Currently, it is owned by town and serves as a cultural, educational and leisure time centre.
