This "you are here" map is on the north west side of Thurloe Street close to the junction with Cromwell Place. The map is entitled "Exhibition Road map - for sight and touch" and has been created by the local council and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The map is mounted on two legs and is angled similar to an orientation table. As the title suggests, it is for use by the normally sighted and the visually impaired.
The map, that has a blue background, is split into three vertical parts. The central part, the largest of the three, contains the map with the title running along the top. The elements are outlined and raised and are colour coded. The legend is contained in the left panel. On the map, the streets and buildings are referenced by a two letter code with the key being displayed in the right panel (see photos).
On the map, the "you are here" point is indicated by a raised light blue star that is to be found near the top right corner of the map.
A lot of thought has gone into the map but I could not work out how blind people would (a) know it is there and (b) avoid walking into it!
