This slightly larger-than-life bronze statue of Chad Silver is located in front of the Hallenstadion in Zürich Oerlikon, the home stadium of the last club he played for, the ZSC Lions.
The statue was created by Kurt Laurenz-Metzler and depicts Silver in action with his number 23 on the dress.
Chad Silver was a Swiss-Canadian ice hockey player. Born on March 12, 1969 in Canada, he started his career with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League. In 1989 he moved to Switzerland, his mothers native country where he played for several clubs in the first division and also for the national team. On December 3, 1998 he died from a heart attack in the age of only 29 years.
