In Schiller Park a special fountain makes a piece of Klagenfurt history come to life: the Fluderbrunnen. This work by Domenico Venchiarutti from 1859 is the last remaining Fluder of Klagenfurt. Fluder, they were box-like fountain basins with stairs, getting to Feuerbach, where women did their laundry. The last remaining Fluder stood in front of today's town house until 1971. Then he was taken down. It was not until 14 years later the stone basin made of Töschlinger marble with the Egyptian Water Gate and the water-spouting mask by Josef Kassin found a new, decent home in Schiller Park.
