As described by the NGS in 1980 (although originally monumented by the CGS in 1933):
"IN AUSTIN, 0.85 KM (0.55 MI) WEST ALONG EAST ELEVENTH STREET FROM THE JUNCTION ON INTERSTATE 35, AT THE INTERSECTION OF BRAZOS STREET, AT THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT BUILDING SOUTH OF ELEVENTH STREET, IN TOP OF THE GRANITE ENTRANCE FLOOR WHICH IS SET ON THE MAIN FOUNDATION OF THE BUILDING ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE NORTH ENTRANCE TO THE BUILDING."
The 1980 description is still a great reference for locating this station, especially since decent handheld GPS readings are difficult to come by due to interference from the actual building where the station is located. Please note that the State Highway Building (a.k.a. the "Dewitt C. Greer" building) is still in use today, by the Texas Department of Transportation ("DOT").
Likewise, its associated NGS Data Sheet's posted coordinates are pretty much in line with my own observations: the NGS reports the station at "N 30 16 20.13 W 097 44 24.66" which was quite close to my own readings -- as measured within 15' accuracy and 20+ reading averages: "N 30° 16.336 W 97° 44.412".
