Prince Edward Island Road webcams are operated by the Prince Edward Island Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (TIR). They are mounted on tall steel towers, most of which have weather sensors included on the tower. The sensors measure temperature, humidity, barometric pressure and wind direction and speed.
The webcam pic below is more or less real time and will update every 30 to 40 minutes, depending on conditions.
This highway webcam is on the west side of the Veteran's Memorial Highway (Highway 2) at a road leading to PEI Elevator Number 3, a large grain elevator with several concrete silos flanked by several steel silos. The webcam looks south down Highway 2. The webcam tower is about 750 metres south on Highway 2 from the intersection with Highway 150 in Elmsdale.
