Aaron Harvey Lowe III was born on 21 January 1945. He entered the army in December 1967 and became a Specialist Fourth Class. He reported for duty in Vietnam in August of 1968. During a mortar attack on his position near Da Nang on 12 May 1969 he was killed.
His body was shipped back through Springfield, Missouri to be interred in the cemetery at Oak Ridge -- an area northeast of Cassville in which his family lived and where he was reared.
This memorial was placed in the small
Memorial Park adjacent to and administered by the
Irwin-Easley Post #118 of the American Legion. The text of the memorial is as follows:
