This gothic revival church has not yet been plaqued although it was designated in 1990. The plaque is the heritage designation for this church.
The spires of this church can be seen from locations throughout downtown and at night the structures are lit and look like glowing lamps on the night sky.
Work on the church began in 1849 and was finally completed in 1885. It was elevated to basillica status in 1879.
