Johannes von Gott, auch bekannt als Johann von Gott (span. Juan de Dios, eigentlich João Ciudad Duarte, * 8. März 1495 in Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal; † 8. März 1550 in Granada, Spanien) ist der Stifter des Ordens der Barmherzigen Brüder und ein Heiliger der katholischen Kirche. Er ist Patron von Granada, von Krankenhäusern, der Kranken und Krankenpfleger, der Buchhändler und Buchdrucker.
Nach einem unruhigen Leben hörte der über 40-jährige Johannes den spanischen Missionar Johannes von Avila predigen, bekehrte sich daraufhin von einem Tag auf den anderen und widmete sich ab diesem Zeitpunkt ausschließlich der Krankenpflege.
In Granada errichtete er ein Krankenhaus, das vor allem in der Betreuung Geisteskranker revolutionär war. Aus dem Pflegepersonal des Ordens entwickelte sich, ursprünglich ungewollt, nach den Regeln des hl. Augustinus der Orden der Barmherzigen Brüder. Die Gemeinschaft, die heute noch als einer der wichtigsten männlichen Orden im Bereich der Krankenpflege gilt, besteht hauptsächlich aus Laienbrüdern, die neben den drei traditionellen Gelübden zusätzlich das der Hospitalität ablegen.
Der heilige Johannes von Gott wird mit einem Granat-Apfel dargestellt – er verwendete diese Frucht in seinem Hospital schon damals zur Heilung vieler Krankheiten.
Johannes von Gott starb an seinem 55. Geburtstag, am 8. März 1550. Seine Reliquien sind in der nach ihm benannten Kirche in Granada aufbewahrt.

Das Johannes-von-Gott-Denkmal (2, Kreuzungsbereich Schmelzgasse - Große Mohrengasse, seit 2000 Johannes-von-Gott-Platz benannt), lebensgroße Steinfigur von Angelo Bartolotti nach einem Entwurf von Tuch (Kopie einer Statue in der Peterskirche zu Rom von Filippo della Valle, 1746), enthüllt am 31. März 1936, aufgestellt am heutigen Ort am 26. April 2001; die Skulptur befand sich zuvor hoch oben an der Fassade des 1903-1905 nach Plänen von Franz Ritter von Neumann errichteten Erweiterungsbaues (Große Mohrengasse 11-13) des alten (1883/1884 nach Plänen von Carl Hasenauer, Otto Hofer und Anton Schönmann erbauten) Krankenhauses (Große Mohrengasse 9).
