Založeno bylo roku 1452 ve východní cásti Vyšehradu a jeho podhradí. Stejne jako predtím Nové Mesto, rozlišovalo se Mesto hory Vyšehrad na "horní" a "dolní". Horní mesto zaniklo pri výstavbe vyšehradské pevnosti po roce 1649, dolní mesto bylo pripojeno k Praze až jako poslední v roce 1884.

It was founded in 1452 in the eastern part of Vyšehrad, consisting of the upper and lower town. The upper town perished during the construction of the Vyšehrad fortress after 1649, the lower town was joined to Prague as the last in 1884.
