First Presbyterian Church was founded in 1889. We could not determine whether this current building is their original one. This church building was enlarged in the early 1950's and again in 1977 with the addition of a fellowship hall wing. This is an active congregation with worship services Sunday morning at 10:00 and Sunday School at 9:00. The youth meet Sunday evening at 5:30. A Tuesday morning Bible study meets from 10:00-11:30.

This beautiful rough-cut stone church is C-shaped, with the main entrance located at the southwest corner of the original wing. A parallel fellowship hall wing to the east is connected by a large central wing perpendicular to the other two. The entrance has two large 6-step masonry staircases, leading to double doors on both the south and west sides. The doors are beneath stone arches which contain lovely arched stained glass. Above the entrance is a stone tower with a bell. The roof is gabled.

This is a beautiful old church building, and may well be the original from 1899. This congregation is an active church with many community and missions activities.
