The marker is decorated with floral trim as is common with many zinc headstones. The main face has the family name, "Edwards," on the plinth, and a keystone with "H T W S S T K S" indicates that Mr. Edwards was a Mark Master with the Masons. The inscription below says:
James
H.
Edwards
Born Feb. 16, 1832
Died Jan. 21,
1887.
The second face has a sheaf of what, denoting harvest, with "How desolate our home, bereft of thee". The third face has a figure, clinging to a cross, with "He died as he lived, a pure, upright man." Finally, the fourth face has a psychopomp, with "With Christ in Heaven, sheltered and safe from sorrow".
