Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center is a public access wilderness area of approximately 2900 acres of diverse flora and fauna located around the confluence of Clear Creek and the Elm Fork of the Trinity River. This is one of the rare urban wilderness hotspots with ample opportunities to spot wildlife in their own natural habitat. Armadillo, Weasel, Skunk, fox, rattle snake, deer and other local wildlife are present in abundance here.
The trail itself is unpaved and can get quite muddy, slippery and slushy during rainy seasons. There is a lake in the center of the park, the wetlands trail snakes along the banks of the lake.
