With his studies in economics and society, German philosopher Karl Marx (1818–1883) laid the groundwork to the modern theories of socialism.
Main belt astoroid 1969 TH6 was discovered in 1969 by Lyudmila Chernykh at the and was named after the philosopher.
The original location is Berlin's Marx-Engels Forum, one of the few places on earth where one can still see a larger than life statue of the founders of Communism. The statue was created in 1986 by sculptor Ludwig Engelhardt
