Located west of the Bing Wing addition of the Cecil H. Green Library on the Stanford University campus is a water fountain along with two semi-circular benches which contain panels of the names of benefactors who've contributed in some way to Stanford University's first 100 years of existence. There is a bronze plaque imbedded in the ground on the west side of the fountain that reads:
THE STANFORD CENTENNIAL CAMPAIGN
NATIONAL CO-CHAIRS, 1987-1992
ROY A. ANDERSON
PETER S. BING
WILLIAM R. KIMBALL
LINDA R. MEIERLEADERS IN LAYING THE STEPPING STONES
TO STANFORD'S SECOND CENTURY
Along with named panels on the benches are the words '100 YEARS' at the ends of the benches as well as the inscription 'TO HONOR THOSE WHO SUSTAINED STANFORD DURING ITS FIRST 100 YEARS.'
Apparently, this fountain and benches make up a 'whispering gallery' and can be visited here.
