In York, within the York Agricultural and Industrial Museum, is a collection of pianos.

The museum is located on West Princess Street, and is near Codorus Creek. It is part of several museums that are included with the admission, administered by York Heritage Trust. After paying admission, walk into the exhibit areas to an open room.

The pianos and organs are toward the front of the building. Several kinds are on display. I saw at least two pianos and three organs. Above them is a sign stating "Weaver Organ and Piano Company." There is also a small sign that has information about this company.

The Weaver Organ and Piano Company was established in 1870 and made both pianos and organs in York. They started with chapel and reed organs but gradually reduced production of these and increased production of pianos by 1908. They produced several kinds of pianos including spinets and grands through the Great Depression. At its peak the company made 45 pianos a day. Pianos were shipped all over the world. However, by 1959, the company went out of business.
