The alliance CoA belongs to one of owners of the Chateau - Jan Rudolf, hrabe Chotek z Chotkova a Vojnína (Jan Rudolf, Count Chotek of Chotkov and Wognin; 18 May 1748 – 26 August 1824) and his wife Marie Sidonie, hrabenka Clary-Aldringenová (Maria Sidonia countess Clary-Aldringen (1748-1824). Jan Rudolf, Count Chotek was an Austrian finance minister and Government President (Gubernialpräsident) in the Kingdom of Bohemia.
The Chotek family was an aristocratic family from Bohemia. The family is first documented in the 14th century when Miloslav, his wife Wele and their son Wenlynus are mentioned as masters of the Chockov estate near Radnice in the Plzen Region. The uninterrupted lineage of the family starts with Otto Chotek of Chockov and Liblín. In the late 16th century, Václav Chotek took the name of Chotkov and Vojnín, while his older brother Adam Chotek retained the name of Chockov and Liblín.
The House of Clary-und-Aldringen or Clary-Aldringen is one of the most prominent Austro-Hungarian princely familys of Bohemian noble origin. The Bohemian princes of Clary-und-Aldringen are descending from two noble families of the Holy Roman Empire. On the one hand, the von Clarys, lords of Riva del Garda, are Upper-Italian nobles who enter the Bohemian nobility in the 14th century. On the other hand, the von Aldringens was a catholic noble family from the Spanish Netherlands who sided with the Habsburgs during the Reformation and the subsequent religious wars. In 1622, countess Anna Maria von Aldringen, sister and heir of Thirty Years War's Austrian general Reichsgraf Johann von Aldringen, married count Hieronymus von Clary, son of Bohemian lord Franz von Clary. Their descendants were allowed by imperial decree to adopt the name and arms of both families. Ever since, they are named Clary-und-Aldringen (or Clary-Aldringen). [wiki]
Hidden in vast English park is one of jewels of Baroque architecture of Central Bohemia, Veltrusy Chateau (Zámek Veltrusy), designed by one of leading architects of Baroque in Bohemia - Giovanni Battista Alliprandi.
