Tyršova Street, running from the Palacký Gardens, includes the Sokol Gymnasium building from 1896 and the house in which the poet Adolf Heyduk (1835-1923), a member of the literary circle Májovci, lived. The house, designed by the architect Jan Koula, was built in 1900 in the neo-Renaissance style. A part of Heyduk’s apartment has been preserved – study, dining room, and drawing room, all originally furnished. Adolf Heyduk, a distinctive figure of Czech literary society of the second half of the 19th century as well as a prominent person of Písek, is buried in the Vyšehrad cemetery in Prague.

Z Palackého sadu vychází Tyršova ulice, v níž stojí budova sokolovny z roku 1896 a pak obydlí básníka Adolfa Heyduka (1835 - 1923), clena literární skupiny Májovcu. Tento dum byl vystaven v roce 1900 podle návrhu architekta Jana Kouly v novorenesancním slohu. Uvnitr je dochována cást Heydukova bytu - pracovna, jídelna a spolecenský pokoj v puvodním vybavení. Adolf Heyduk, výrazná postava ceské literární spolecnosti druhé poloviny 19. století, ale také významná písecká osobnost, je pochován na Vyšehradském hrbitove v Praze.
