The Wapen van Dwingeloo consists of a silver shield with a blue cross, bearing the symbolic representation of the port were represented by four fortresses to the seven (later eight) villages in the municipality with the ears of the former municipality Dwingeloo . The description reads:

"In a silver cross of azure, loaded with eight oars of gold, placed 1,1,4,1 and 1, and accompanied by four fortresses of throat, together, open and enlightened by saber. The shield covered by a golden crown three leaves and two pearls. "
