The bridge spans the Avon River in the center of Northam. It has some swing but not enough to scare people.

This suspension bridge which spans the Avon River was built in 1975. It is apparently the longest bridge of its type in Australia. It also marks the starting point of the Avon Descent, the 133 km white water classic which is run on the first weekend of August every year.
