This monument for Arnold Bürkli is located in the park Arboretum at the lake shore in Zürich.
The memorial is a large stone with a relief of Bürkli and the inscription: "Dr. Arnold Bürkli, Quai-Ingenieur, 1833-1894"
Arnold Bürkli was a Swiss engineer who is best known for his various projects as leading municipal engineer of Zürich. After 1867 he completely reorganised and improved the city's water supply and sewerage system. The park where the memorial is located was created in the late 1880s on landfills during the construction of the quais, that was also lead by Bürkli. It was erected 1899, five years after his death.
