The Fort Defiance Station is now closed and decaying and signs warn off visitors. I do not know when the station opened nor when it was closed for good, but think closure was in the 1970s-80s. Nearby old homes speak of the days when hopes were high for this station and a developing town.
The railroad past the station is still in use.
