These stocks are found near the entrance to the old Geelong gaol, situated on the corner of Myers & Swanston Streets near the CBD. The gaol was in use from 1853 to 1991.
The Old Geelong Gaol museum has a variety of displays that tell the history of the gaol and the harsh conditions prisoners and staff endured at the facility. It is now managed by Rotary International, and is open on weekends from 1pm to 4pm.
