Belmont War Memorial is a tall granite obelisk on a square four-tiered base and was originally erected by the people of Belmont in honour of the 34 soldiers from the district who fell in the Great War
The memorial now commemorates those who have been involved in all wars and conflicts.
The memorial surrounds have been changed recently to allow handicapped access and the planting of a memorial rose garden. The memorial was moved to it's current location in 1972 due to the widening of Great Eastern Highway.
On the front of the memorial is a list of the fallen above which are the words "The Fallen " below a wreath, on one side the words :-
