The church of St.Peter and St.Paul is largly early C15th but has had considerable Victorian restoration, especially the chancel, 1853.

The impressive white marble War Memorial is fixed to the north wall of the church in the blocked north doorway immediately opposite the main entrance which is via the south porch. It has the font immediately in front of it. The white marble is surrounded by a frame of black marble which has various emblems arranged in the five corners, the top of the monument being 'pitched', and there is a small relief cross added below the first line of text which reads:

                            In Loving and Grateful Memory
OF BARDWELL MEN WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
                                 FOR KING AND COUNTRY
                              IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918.
