Constable William Hamilton Lowe passed away December 13th, 1882 at the age of 42. He was born in 1840.
He had been a partner with John Carmichael Haynes in ranching in the Osoyoos area. In 1872 Lowe suffered a severe accident. We have no information as to the nature of his accident or whether he was able to work thereafter. The two ultimately acquired 22,000 acres of land which stretched from the head of Osoyoos Lake to Oliver. It was one of the first cattle ranches in the valley, when ranching in B.C. was still in its infancy. Haynes bought out Lowe's share when he died in 1882.
Nothing is known of his career as a constable, nor to which force he was attached,
The inscription on the front of the headstone reads:

On the rear of the headstone is the following inscription:
COME
UNTO ME
YE THAT LABOUR
