A really cool aspect of this old station is the large neon Spiffy Lube sign and the original 1940s style neon tubes on each of the front corners of the building, as well as around the canopy over the gas pump. On each corner are two white and one red neon tube while a single red neon tube runs around the canopy. They appear to still be in working condition, although the white bars aren't very bright any more.
Out front of the building is a 1940s/50s Gilbarco Calco Meter gas pump. Atop is a truly cool Indian Motorcycle globe, albeit a reproduction, though the pump itself is for real. The pump has been set to 21.9 cents per gallon which, in our experience, would be a 1940s price. Painted in Pennzoil yellow, we'll guess that's what it is intended to be portrayed as. The style of the station suggests a date of construction of the late '30s or early '40s, in line with the price per gallon which the gas pump has been set to.
The gas station is now a Spiffy Lube shop which provides oil changes and chassis lubes. They seem to be a Mobil oil dealer and even have an old Pontiac Service sign hanging on the front of the building.
