Originally, this was a grist mill, built in 1863 by David Tulloch.

At the turn of the century, it was converted into a hydroelectric power station.

Water from upstream the Stanislaus River was channeled through the station at the former mill.

Today, only ruins (above) and the remains of the turbine (below) are left.
