This memorial marker was placed in front of the Ransom Asa Moore log cabin near Kewaunee. It reads:


“In appreciation of the achievements of Ransom Asa Moore as superintendent of schools of this country and as agronomist, and a builder of the short course in agriculture, at the University of Wisconsin, this tablet is placed near his birthplace and where in 1881, he first taught school.

Presented by the people of Kewaunee County, 1929.”

Ransom Asa Moore (1861-1941) was also the “Father of 4-H clubs” for youth and the president of the Kewaunee Fair and Agricultural Society.
