This history mural is painted on a wooden fence in the middle of town next to the hardware store. Images include Col. DeWayne Stebbins, and some of the businesses that were prominent in Algona history: Stebbins Hotel, Algoma Produce Company, Ahnapee Veneer and Seating Company, also the Algoma pier light, a fishing boat, and a cargo ship dubbed the “USS Walldogs” after the mural artist group. It was painted by Mike and Aileen Meyer, artists with the Walldogs.
