These beach huts are a quaint addition to this park, one of the best-kept secrets in Bermuda :) This area used to be a Canadian military outpost, and some of the old buildings are still here.

These small beach huts were built after the base was returned to the government of Bermuda to entice tourists to visit this lovely park. Each has electricity, and a private seating area inside. Restrooms and showers are nearby.

The park office (where you get a key for your hut) was still closed for the season the day Blasterz were there in February, but these huts are available on a reservation or drop-in basis during the cruise ship and tourist season from late March-October.

From the Bermuda For Visitors website: (visit link)

"One of Bermuda’s best kept secrets, Daniel’s Head Beach Park, lies along 19 acres of the Atlantic shore. It seems a wild and remote spot. In times past it was host to the Canadian military, but they are long gone, leaving only the shells of the old barracks and recreation hall behind. It’s one of those places the locals like to keep to themselves, and understandably so, beautiful and inviting, where the kids can swim in warm waters that are almost always calm and shallow.

It’s also a great place for snorkelers as the waters teem with colorful angelfish, parrotfish, wrasse and sergeant majors. The two beaches are soft and white and ideal for the Sunday afternoon picnic – there’s lots of room to cook-out and the sea on a sunny day is the color of uncut emeralds. It’s a spot where lovers of the great outdoors can become one with nature, where you’ll always find space to spread the blanket and just relax.

Remote as Daniel’s Head is, it’s not devoid of the necessities. There are public telephones, bathrooms and freshwater showers you can use for free, and there is always plenty of room to park the scooter. The park is on Daniel’s Head Road, off Cambridge Road."
