The cavern started out as Louisville Crushed Stone in the 1930's. It was acquired in 1989 by private investors to be used for business, storage, recycling, and tourism - which includes tram-guided tours, zipline tours, a ropes course, a mountain bike park, and an annual holiday lights display. The tram-guided tour highlights the history, geology, mining, and a stop at the Cavern worm farm (worms eat paper trash and poop fertilizer) and a drive through its underground atomic bomb shelter.
From November through December visitors can drive their own cars through Mega Cavern to see "Lights Under Louisville," a mile-long trail of Christmas lights in the world's only underground drive-thru holiday light show.
Mega Zips is six underground zip lines, including a dual racing zip and two challenge bridges that will test your skill and balance.
Mega Quest is a fully underground aerial ropes challenge course with courses for all ages and abilities and the Mega Underground Bike Park is a one of a kind bike park, with over 320,000 square feet including 45 trails, Jump Lines, Pump Tracks, Dual Slalom, BMX, Cross Country and Single Tracks.
