"I'm glad we're here today because it's been a long time coming. The people of the community deserve something of this quality. We have the best facility in the area, by far," said Vestal Athletic Director Tom Hahne.
Hahne says the stadium is for the kids.
And they will be able to reach a higher level of competition.
These stands at Dick Hoover Stadium can seat 5,000 home and visiting specatators.
The athletic director says now they will be able to host larger sporting events.
Something they couldn't do in the past.
The stadium also received this new concession stand, and this new press box.
Hoover's son Jim, who spoke at the ceremeony, says his dad would be proud.
"It's an honor for my dad. I know when he was alive for the first dedication he was just so proud to have a stadium like this, named after him," said Jim Hoover, the son of Dick Hoover.
Ironically, 55-years after her grandfather coached the first game in the old stadium, Brynne Hoover coached the first game in the new stadium.
She's a field hockey coach for the Walton Warriors."
