The decoration of British Telecom street side junction boxes is part of an initiative by Southwark Council in the Borough and Bankside areas. Funding from Borough & Bankside Community Council's "Cleaner Greener Safer" scheme is being used to make these boxes more attractive and to try and deter graffiti and fly posters.

The box is against a low wall that has railings on top. Looking through the railings (see photos) reveals nothing but rubbish behind the box and the usual drab green of a non-decorated box. The main image is of two cocoa pods, one of which extends on to the left end and top of the box. There is another image running along the lower part of the front of the box but it is not clear as to what it represents.
