Today the TEM 1001 is host to the Sugar Mountain Express candy and novelties store.
This car began its life in 1939 as a storage battery car for the Temiskaming & Northern Ontario (TEM). By 1946, the TEM was using the car as a combine, serving both passengers and freight. In late 1962, 1001 was transferred to the Ontario Northland Railway (ONR), when TEM became the ONR. Considering where the car now resides, it is no surprise that its working career finished as a combine car with the Greater Winnipeg Water District Railway in the 1980s.
