The photos are taken from the eastbound lane of Baker Street, at the east crosswalk at Kootenay Street, looking west.

On the left in the photos, the first building is the Bank of Montreal, a beautiful brick and terra cotta building erected in 1899, and now the oldest operating branch of the Bank of Montreal in the province. Next is the old Hamilton Powder Company building, which once stored blasting powder, followed by the old Daily News building. On the right is the old coop building, still the coop, followed by several vintage buildings, names and heritage unknown.
Year photo was taken: ca 1940
