Carrousel 1900 is Europe's largest traditional wooden carousel.

This carousel is located in a corner of the park Champ-de-Mars in Colmar. According to several sources, it is the largest of its kind in Europe.
The carousel has a diameter of 16 meters and a height of 11 meters; the total weight is 38 tons.
The outside of the carousel is decorated with reproductions of paintings by Toulouse Lautrec and scenic pictures of the old Colmar. It has 80 seats, 30 of them are horses.
Because the whole carousel is covered behind glass windows it is operational all year round.
In the rear side of the structure there is a food stand where you can buy fresh crêpes and other sweet snacks.
