The stone wall on the south side of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum is under a covered portico, and is adorned by a dozen plaques honoring America's Favorite Son, Will Rogers. This is a bronze plaque placed by the Optimist International organization. The inscription reads:

(Optimist International Seal)
"Friend of the Boy"
To the memory of
WILL ROGERS
who contributed so much
to the development of
youth throughout
the world

Dedicated by
Optimist International
Nov. 4, 1953
The anniversary of his birth
