As described by the Coast and Geodetic Survey ("CGS") in 1954 (and updated in 2003):

"3.45 MI SE FROM HEMPSTEAD.
2.45 MILES EAST ALONG U.S. HIGHWAY 290 FROM THE COURTHOUSE AT HEMPSTEAD, THENCE 1.0 MILE SOUTH ALONG FARM ROAD 359, 49 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE FARM ROAD, 13 FEET NORTHWEST OF A TELEPHONE POLE, 2 FEET EAST OF A FENCE, 2.9 FEET NORTH OF A WITNESS POST, SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST WHICH PROJECTS 0.6 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.

(2003) RECOVERY NOTE BY GEOCACHING -- RECOVERED WITH CHANGES TO DESCRIPTION AS FOLLOWS: 3.5 FEET E OF FENCELINE, 50 FEET W OF CENTERLINE FARM ROAD 359, 547
FEET S OF CENTERLINE CANTY ROAD."

The CGS description and associated reference points (i.e. distances/directions) are a good starting point for locating this station, however please note the following updates :
* US Hwy 290 has moved further up North, the referenced highway is now called "Old Hempstead Hwy", or "US Hwy BUS-290".
* The "telephone pole" reference should be ignored... no longer there.
* The witness post is no longer present either. A wooden marker with orange tape just west of the disk has been placed as temporary replacement.

The most recently posted NGS Data Sheet's coordinates seemed to match quite well with my own personal observations: it states "N 30 04 08.25913 W 096 02 16.11681", which was in line with my findings as measured with 10' accuracy and 10+ reading averages: "N 30° 04.138 W 096° 02.268".

Below are some additional facts, per the NGS database (with some editing for length): (visit link)
