from website:"Through much planning and hard work of many in the village, a reclaimed flood plain adjacent to the Chenango River became the Port Dickinson Community Park. The park has turned out to be very popular and contains a three quarter mile walking trail along the perimeter along with an exercise area, a pavilion with picnic tables and charcoal grills, two tennis courts, a basketball court, two hand ball courts, two ball fields, a soccer field and restroom facilities. The park is located in upper Port Dickinson, just north of the Municipal Hall, with one entrance/exit on Chenango Street.
In 2000, the park was re-dedicated to then Village Mayor John D. Wilfley and his late wife, Jeanne, making it known as the Port Dickinson Jeanne and John D. Wilfley Community Park.
Picnic Area In addition to the amenities mentioned above, there is an additional picnic area with picnic tables and charcoal grills embedded in a small grove of pines just to the south of the pavilion area.
The park is used frequently for birthday and graduation parties. Residents may reserve the pavilion or other picnic area, free of charge, and non-residents may make reservations, for a fee, by calling 607-771-8233 Mon - Fri, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. It is Village Policy that Village Residents have until April 1st of each year to reserve the Pavilion, after that, non residents can reserve it. Non resident reservations may be made prior to April 1st, but they will be contacted to reschedule if a resident wants that date."
