from website "The Fenton Free Library has had a long history with the Chenango Valley Central School District. The library was started in the 1930's and from 1957 to 1967 the library was actually housed in the Hillcrest Elementary School Library. In recent years, due to large funding cuts from Broome County (70 % cut in county funding in 2011) the library has been struggling to stay afloat."
