I recovered this U.S. Geological Survey triangulation station / benchmark from 1932 in good condition. It is a brass disk monumented on top of a large boulder and among many other smaller nearby lava boulders and lava rock and about 20 feet south of Ball Mountain Little Shasta Rd. You have to cross over a metal fence to get to this station. This station is not listed in the NGS database and is listed on a topography map as 'BM 974.8'. This station is on private property so proceed at your own risk. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this station.
