A placard at the site explains that this 2014 mural by Michelle Weinberg is inspired by the camouflage technique. There is an old photo of US war ships using this highly visible pattern of line and color which makes it difficult for the enemy to detect. It adds that this mural is "...a two-colored paette of deep gray and Mountbatten pink, a color scheme used briefly during the Second World War."
