The decoration of British Telecom street side junction boxes is part of an initiative by Southwark Council in the Borough and Bankside areas. Funding from Borough & Bankside Community Council's "Cleaner Greener Safer" scheme is being used to make these boxes more attractive and to try and deter graffiti and fly posters.

The main picture on the front of the box is St george the Martyr church that stands opposite. The other sides of the box are decorated with images of other buildings in the immediate area.
