The War memorial is located in the Derek Walcott Square in the center of Castries.

The memorial is facing Bourbon Street and the West entrance to the park.

Countless Saint Lucians fought and died in World War I from 1914-1918 as part of the British West Indies Regiment.

The inscriptions on the plaques read:

"To the glory of God and the abiding memory of the men of Saint Lucia who lost their lives in the Great War 1914-1918. (names)

and

World War II 1939-1945 / Killed in action /
