This arch marks the entrance to a hummingbird habitat area in the Desert Breeze Park in Chandler, Arizona. The arch is created from rusted iron and arises from both sides of the entrance area. It represents a vine twisted around a central rod with large flowers adorning the vine. The height at the top of the arch is about 12 feet. At the apex of the arch a hummingbird is extracting nectar from the central flower. Th hummingbird is the one piece of the sculpture that is painted. The hummingbird's back and wings are green and the throat is pink. The underside of the bird is white.
The artist is Joe Tyler and the arch was commissioned by the City of Chandler in 1997. Beyond the arch is a tree of the same nature by the same artist.
