OSHD 'W 231' BM - Klamath County, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this Oregon State Highway Department benchmark from 1932 in good condition. This mark does not exist in the NGS database The disk contains the designation stamping of 'W 231', the date '1932' and the elevation stamping of '4052'. The disk is monumented on top of a concrete irrigaton syphon in the NW corner, flush with the surface. The syphon is located about 12 feet south of Hwy 50 and SE of a private residence located on the north side of the highway. There are two witness posts located one foot west of the station, a metal pole and the original wooden witness post with the letters "USBM' etched vertically down the side. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this mark.
