The Jahrhundertbrunnen is a historical fountain situated in the centre of the city of Essen. The laying of the foundation stone took place in 1902.
The sculptor Ulfert Janssen (* 11. Dezember 1878 in Bilawe bei Glogau; † 19. Februar 1956 in München) created this monument 1907. It is made of Muschelkalk.
