The former Dominican Abbey has the second largest church building in Colmar. Today it is a museum and the municipal library.

EN: The Dominican abbey of Colmar was founded in 1277. The church dates mainly to 1289 to 1346. In 1458 the roof was damaged by fire and had to be reconstructed. The character of the church was changed in 1720 by the addition of Baroque ornaments. The abbey was closed after the French revolution and the church was used for profane purposes until it was re-installed as a church in 1898.
Since 1973 the church is home of the Madonna of the Rose Bush, a world-famous master piece by Martin Schongauer, painted in 1473.
The cloister of the abbey today serves as the municipal library.
FR: L'abbaye dominicaine de Colmar a été fondée en 1277. L'église a été construite principalement de 1289 à 1346. En 1458 le toit a été endommagé par un feu et a dû être reconstruite. Le caractère de l'église a été modifiée en 1720 par l'ajout d'ornements baroques. L'abbaye a été fermé après la Révolution française et l'église a été utilisé à des fins profanes jusqu'à ce qu'elle a été ré-installée comme une église en 1898.
Depuis 1973, l'église est la maison de la Vierge au Buisson de Roses, un chef-d'œuvre célèbre par Martin Schongauer, peint en 1473.
Le cloître de l'abbaye abrite aujourd'hui la bibliothèque municipale.
